![]() ![]() I folded the white fleece in half and sewed the open end down its length. I cut, out of white fleece, double the length of the elastic and double the width. ![]() I sewed the feet, but I am sure if you only cut out of fleece one foot, you could leave it unfinished and not sew it.įor the head band, I measured what the length of elastic I would need. I used Velcro to secure the 2 strips of extended fabric around the ankle. You'll want to cut out 4 in total, 2 for the top, 2 for the bottom. This will be how you will secure the foot around the ankle and keep it over the shoe. Once you have that shape traced, you'll want to add to the pattern, from the back of the foot on each side, about a 2-3 inch long by 1/4 inch wide strip. Use a piece of paper (this paper will be used as a pattern for the foot) to draw the shape of a duck/chicken foot that will extend longer and wider than the top of the shoe. Grab a pair of your child's shoes (sneakers are what I used). It's much easier to stitch from the inside of the onesie through to the front of the onesie. Try and pull the feathers back so you can get the thread around the rope of the boa. Stitch one white boa to the front of the onesie and one to the back. Enough elastic to fit your child's head. ![]()

Miss Boye does a FANTASTIC job of portraying people under the influence of truth-serum – especially since it’s such a massive contrast to how guarded they usually are. My favourite parts are undoubtedly the ones where Kallocain is used. Packed full with social criticism, I think Boye does a good job of building up a world where the biggest problem isn't so much the state, but the mental walls that keep the people from each other. So anyway! Kallocain is a dystopian part-scifi about the chemist Leo Kall, who invents the first ever truth-serum - Kallocain - and thereby unlocks doors that were supposed to stay shut. I actually read this book back in 2007, but today at the flea market I just so happened upon a FREAKIN' ORIGINAL COPY FROM 1940 AND BOUGHT IT FOR FIVE FREAKIN' CROWNS! IT'S AMAZING AND SO FRAGILE AND THE PAGES A BLOODY HAND-CUT AND I LOVE IIIT! ![]() I don't know how famous Kallocain or Karin Boye are outside Sweden, but she's pretty much one of our most renowned authors. ![]() ![]() You can track your delivery by going to AusPost tracking and entering your tracking number - your Order Shipped email will contain this information for each parcel. To avoid this kind of tonal whiplash, you’ll need to have a sense of where your novel’s going before you craft its opening lines. An out-of-place opening, after all, is like a bloody knife on the cover of a wholesome romance: sure to have your readers blinking in confusion instead of eagerly turning the pages. Make sure you keep this tone in mind from the very start. You should, however, consider the overall tone of your story from the beginning, whether it’s as soft as spun sugar or as sharp as a blade. We’re not suggesting you plan out your whole plot scene by scene: there’s still plenty of room for spontaneity here. Now, don’t worry if you’re the kind of writer who likes to figure things out as they go. That means the beginning of a novel should set the tone for all the writing that follows, letting the reader know what to expect as they make their way deeper into the story. As King says, the best novel openings aren’t just beautiful sentences - they’re invitations into a world of the author’s creation. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Seriously, the only reason I didn’t rate this four stars is because of the last chapter.
